The "outing" in Scouting begins with family camping when the Scout is a Tiger, expands to include summer "residence" camping for Wolves/Bears, and grows with the scout (in number of opportunities per year, length of trips, and outdoor skills applied) as the Scout progresses through Webelos and beyond. A Cub Scout (and his parents) will thus engage in (and grow into) several types of outdoor activities during their time in the Pack, including:

  • Family Campouts at local Scout camps or Texas State Parks
  • Pack Overnight Trips to places like Space Center Houston, the USS Lexington, Moody Gardens, and the Fort Worth Zoo
  • Day Hikes
  • Webelos Den Camping
  • Cub Scout Summer Day & Residence Camps (Council)
  • Webelos Extreme (Summer) Camp (Council)
  • Webelos Winter Camp (Council)

More information on family campouts, pack overnighters, and day hiking follows.

More information on District and Council activities is on the District (www.arrowheadcentral.net) and Council (www.bsacac.org) web sites.
